We've been busy!! We've not shared photos of the house renovations for a while, but a lot has been happening! The whole house has been painted! It took us a while, but we have enjoyed it. We're a little sore, but we love the new look. It's been fun having people come by and comment on the house. So many people have watched with real interest, seeing the old house become a home. The deck got a lighter colour, to keep it light and bright. This was the first section of the house to be painted. The side of the house looks so much better! We're really happy with it. It was all-hands-on-deck! The girls even had a go!
My birthday party was so much fun! Check out the decorations here. My friends were so cool. I tried really hard to say hello to them all, and I even lifted my hand to wave a few times! I loved my presents. People really thought about me, and what I would like! I felt very special. I loved the Happy Birthday song! Do you love my birthday bib? I got it from Bows and Frills. Turning Five was so much fun!
I went in to hospital as sleepy Batman and am going home as cheeky Superman!
They let me out this afternoon. I had been doing really well, and didn't need much pain medication. But... I sat in my car seat for a couple of hours, sat in my chair for dinner and sat in my shower seat. I've been moving around a bit more, and have been moved more... Tonight, I am feeling some pain and I am not very happy. I don't want to go to sleep. I think I will need some extra cuddles. I had the 'hardware' removed from my hip today.
(Remember my femoral osteotomy? Remember they cut and repositioned my femur? Remember they screwed it in place? Well, all that metal has gone, now!) I gave everyone a bit of a scare because I wouldn't wake up! (I like to scare people during 'recovery' time. Remember the recovery from my femoral osteotomy?) I was just tricking them though... I have been having trouble sleeping, so I was using it as an excuse to catch up! I was grumpy at Mum, when she tried to wake me! Because of my history, I will stay in hospital tonight and I'll go home tomorrow! Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for the love you showered me with, for my birthday! We loved the pictures and the comments.
To the many people who gave me a present - Thank you!! My presents are amazing! I got the coolest clothes. They are comfortable clothes (good for when I have to spend a lot of time lying down!) and they will make me look like a spunk rat! I love the superhero clothes, too! I got so many thoughtful presents... presents that are so perfect for me. You guys really considered me... and thought about what I would like. Thank you for that! I got lots of lights, some fun toys and games and some cool toys I can feel and squish. Thank you, everyone! And... there's a present that's not finished, yet. I'm going to be doing something really cool! #nolimits Thanks for loving me. You all made sure my birthday was fun! Sloppy kisses xxx My Aunty Eggs is the best! She made this card for my birthday and she remembered that its Hamish's 5th birthday too! Hamish is important to us. Just like Hamish, Aunty Eggs has always been there for us. She looked after my Mum when I was tiny and she had to leave me in hospital in Sydney and when Dad had to go back home to Kiama. This card made Mum cry! (Go check out Aunty Eggs' Facebook page - Erica Made or her website. She is super talented! Her drawings looks like photos and she makes the cutest kids' tables and chairs!) Read more about Hamish here. This is the card Aunty Eggs made for Mum and Dad's wedding.
That is not a photo! (See more of her cards here.) My birthday party was super fun! Mum was a bit busy though and forgot to take photos! (Its OK, Nanoo took some for her!). My party theme was 'Construction'. We chose that because of the house renovations, and how much I loved the noise of the work being done. We had decorations everywhere! Everything was yellow and black and orange. How cool was my cake?! Mum made that! She is so clever. I was so excited for my birthday, that I stayed up late, talking all night last night! That's a bit cheeky! Some of my cake was on the ground and some of it was in the truck. It was decorated with dirt and rocks and Maltesers, sprinkles and flakes. I had a number five sparkler! That was cool! We had 'caution' tape... everywhere! The party food table was fun, too! We used tool trays for the cups and napkins and for the lollies. The rocky road was being dug up... We had black and yellow lolly bags and party hats... The little trucks were working through the biscuits and brownies. It was pretty fun! I got to the party just before everyone else did. I was in my wheelchair once everyone was there. When the kids came up to me, I 'spoke' to all of them! I was so happy they were there. I even tried raising my hands to say hi. I loved the Happy Birthday song and I loved it when everyone sang for me. This was one of my party invitations. I got some really cool presents and some beautiful cards! I got lots of fun Batman and Superman clothes, too! I got coloured lights and toys and fun stuff! Thank you, everyone! Thank you for loving me. And, this is the bib I was sent, so I could look cool at my party! It was sent from @bowsandfrills - You can see their facebook page here. She Wonders If My Brain Damage is Her Fault

I had so much fun, got lots of cool presents and was allowed to eat cake and popping candy! Mum will put some photos up tomorrow, but for today, I wanted to share with you my super cool present... I got a ramp!!! Now, I can finally access my front door! Everyone had fun doing wheelchair donuts on it with me! What a great day! A huge thanks to Tyke, for doing the formwork and Tyke and Brian for doing the labour! Thanks to Krystal, too! The ramp is such an important addition to the house, and we are more excited than we could ever explain.
I've had such a great birthday!
I have been given some awesome presents; lots of clothes, a funny book that made me laugh, a cool light up car, a fancy light, cool place mats and my sister even gave me a present! She wanted to do that! She decided I would like some balls, so she found the best ones in our toy box. She decorated some paper with a cool painting and she wrapped my present. She put it away, and waited for a few days. She was excited to give me my present tonight! She also sang me the Happy Birthday song, as soon as she woke up! I have been given an extra special present, but you have to wait to see a photo of that! Thanks for everyone's birthday wishes! Sloppy kisses! I can't wait for my party tomorrow! |
