I wanted her to do was hold me -
she must love me lots,
because that's what she did for me - all day!
The platelets still make me feel yuck. Aunty Terese had me today and all I wanted her to do was hold me - she must love me lots, because that's what she did for me - all day! I went to hospital today... twice! This morning, my blood was tested. Mum was right... I needed platelets. Because I am having chemotherapy, my platelets have to be treated in Sydney and sent to Wollongong, so Mum and I went home for a rest. We went back to the hospital later that afternoon. The hospital bed is fun and I was my usual kicking and playing self. I did kick my toes on the side of the bed a few times... but it only hurt for a few moments. We were very lucky today - it didn't take much time for my platelets to be topped up! (I don't really like new platelets. Hopefully, I will sleep well tonight - in my own bed!) Wake up mum!!! I'm not tired now and feel SO much better after seeing the nurses last night! I sure tricked Mum and Dad last night! My temperature went up and I was coughing and coughing. I worried them, so they drove me to the hospital. After everyone there visited me and they talked to my oncologists in Sydney, they decided I could go home again. Mum and Dad were not very happy with my trick... but, I liked seeing my nurse friends! It seems I will be getting blood and platelets tomorrow. I like the blood transfusion (it's like an energy drink!) but,I don't like the platelets... they feel awful! There was a very special surprise for Mum and Dad during the Truck Convoy. My uncle's business (TPI) had a truck in the convoy. And, there was a surprise! They had arranged with Hessel Kaan Signs and Neon to make 2 big stickers of my weebly photo- the one at the top of the page! The two stickers were stuck to the TPI truck as it joined the convoy! HK Signs did it for free! Thanks HK Signs! Thanks TPI - Todays Prestige Interiors, for organising such a beautiful surprise for Mum and Dad. Also, the People's Truck (which helped the "people" raise $86,000 for Camp Quality this year!) gave us a huge wave and cheer as they drove past. The People's truck belongs to McMahon's Transport. Thanks, People's Truck and Thanks McMahon's Transport! The People's Truck looked fantastic, too! They were helped out by aspiration graphics, who did such a wonderful job - they deserve a big cheer, too! Thanks, aspiration graphics! When Mum and I got home today, we found a present for me! I love presents! This is what I got from a lovely lady, who has known me ever since I came home for the first time. I love these! Thank you so much for loving me... it makes being brave so much easier! And, thank you for my present! Today was the Illawarra's 8th i98 Camp Quality Truck Convoy! Mum had me on the roadside by half past eight, so we could watch the 1000 odd motorbikes drive past. So many of the bikies were dressed up in cool characters! Then... there was a little rest.... before the trucks rolled in! Everyone was cheering and shouting and the horns were blaring and blasting! I slept through a lot of it. Lots of people recognised my name and gave us a special wave! Thanks! The day will make so much money for Camp Quality kids in the Illawarra! I'm not a part of Camp Quality yet, I'm too little. I wasn't feeling very well most of the day and spent a lot of it sleeping. I did spike a temperature and Mum and Dad had to take me into the hospital - just in case... but, I settled and started kicking and playing! Thanks, everyone... for making Convoy so much fun and so successful! My hair is slowly coming back... But its all over my face! I may have to start shaving if it keeps growing! Today is a special day - world prematurity day. Mum is 29+6 weeks pregnant - in another 9 days, she had me - way too early... What a journey we have had! Today is World Prematurity Day. I was a premature baby. I was born 9 weeks early. The nurses at RPA Hospital looked after me for 3 months and the nurses at Wollongong Hospital looked after me for another month. There were many, many bad days... and there were lots of great moments. Like, when Mum could hold me for the first time (I was 8 days old!) and when Dad held me (I was 22 days old!) Mum never gave up trying to express milk for me to drink. Everyone celebrated when I could finally drink 10ml of milk. My cousins were allowed to visit me for my 100 days old celebration in Wollongong. I finally came home for the very first time when I was 122 days old! This was us at last years convoy - I slept through most of it! I'm looking forward to being awake and seeing The Peoples Truck this year. Thanks for the special shout out today! (The Peoples' Truck will be the fourth truck in Sunday's Camp Quality convoy! The people of the Illawarra helped, by adding their names to the truck. The Peoples' Truck was able to bid $86000! They mentioned me when they made their final bid!) It brought a tear to mum and dads eyes! |
