We've always watched and enjoyed the convoy. Dexter's been to two convoys in his 2 years. Last year, he wasn't well because he'd just finished a round of chemotherapy treatment and was still feeling sick.
Last year, Dexter and his aunt, Carol, added their names to the People's Truck.
The People's Truck is owned by McMahons Transport. They give out the truck so 'the people' can be more actively involved in the convoy.
For $20, names are written on the side of the truck and remain there for a year.
This year, as a way of paying back and thanking both the People's Truck and the convoy (because Dexter is a Camp Quality boy and has been on one camp), we are collecting names to go on the truck. Our idea is to collect the names of Dexter's Mates. All of Dexter's Mates will be added to the truck together, under Dexter's name. If you'd like to join Dexter and become one of his Mates on the truck, let us know. It costs $20 per person - with 100% of the money going to Camp Quality. Tax receipts will be issued.
If you would like to be a "Dexter's Mate', send an email, leave a comment or find us on facebook and we'll get back to you. ([email protected])
This is a bit cheeky, but we're posting this while everyone's so excited about Dexter's dream coming true today! Thanks to everyone who helped make it come true! xxx
