Two years ago, Mum and Dad drove back from seeing me in Sydney
knowing something was wrong. They later found out it was brain damage;
last year we all drove back from Sydney, getting our head around cancer;
this year, we are spending the Friday of the June long weekend dealing with emergency departments and ambulance rides!
Mum took me to hospital just after lunch... I was there until after 7pm
and then I went to another hospital - in another ambulance!
Mum came with me and Dad met us there.
At almost 10pm, we should be on a ward soon.
Even though I was really sick and feeling very sorry for myself,
I did not let my eyes close!
I screamed when the doctor dug around in my arms,
looking for a vein for the canular
and I quickly opened my eyes every time I heard footsteps or voices!
I didn't want any more needles!
I even held my breath when they gave me the ventolin through a spacer!
Mum said - Enough already!
There is still no official diagnosis, but it turns out the man flu may have been an infection that brought on asthma....
We are playing the waiting game now.
