What a busy week Dexter has had!
New hospital, new bed, new nurses, new doctors, new sounds and new hope.
Long awaited introductions took place....
We've all be able to relax a bit more, breathe a bit easier, knowing that that tunnel is getting shorter and that light is getting brighter. He arrived with a clean slate, no expectations of what he can or can't do. It's simply a matter of, he can and will. The staff are gently, but firmly pushing him. Within a day, he was placed on 2 hourly feeds. He has received promising reports from his Physio and Speech Therapists. His Paediatrician is positive and approachable. Breast feeding is highly encouraged. He is reprimanded if he makes the machines make too much noise, disturbing the peacefulness of the ward at 1am! |
Our little stubborn and determined little man is reaching those final stages.
He won't be home tomorrow or next week, but that day can now, finally, be seen as an achievable day.
