I told her to not be so precious.
I stopped breathing with mine!
Charlotte had her 6 week injections today. She isn't happy and she will probably need panadol... I told her to not be so precious. I stopped breathing with mine! Mum and Dad are so very incredibly proud to announce that at 21 months, they have a mover! Today, I moved from one end of the room to the other! It took me about half an hour, but I did it! Each day, I am getting stronger... and cheekier. I am feeling so much better! So, it turns out my chemotherapy has caused an egg allergy! I'm ok, but certain foods make me throw up. Mum says I'm not allowed to eat cake anymore. I don't think that's fair, but I guess she does have to clean up after me... Hopefully I will grow out of it in the next few years - I like cake! This photo was taken a week ago. I'm learning my sitting skills with Pokky. I'm getting pretty good at it. Some days, I want someone to help me with my sitting all day... I can't pull myself up to a sitting position yet, but one day I will! My neck muscles are very strong now! After being in hospital, some of my muscles got a bit weaker, but I am already trying to sit again. I still get a bit wobbly and fall over... but, someone always catches me! My operation to have the central line (cancer cords) pulled out of my chest went exactly to plan. I did have to stay in the hospital for 4 days, though... because of the infection in my lines. Last night, I was put in an isolation room - in case I had something contagious! Dad liked that, because he was sleeping in the chair beside my bed - and we got a room all to ourselves. I didn't have anything contagious! I'm feeling much better now and have come back home. I haven't eaten much in four days, so I am a little bit skinnier, but I think I will be back to my normal eating habits pretty soon. (Mum better get cooking!) Charlotte was a very good sister. She had to be at the hospital, too. She slept in the pram or on Mum or Dad for the four days and she didn't really make much of a fuss. I was very happy to give her a cuddle this morning! Now that I have no "cancer cords" in my chest, I won't have to go to the hospital every Monday! I will miss my nurses, but I am happy those visits are over. When the hole in my chest closes up, I will be allowed to go swimming again! The doctor thinks that will be in a couple of weeks. I told mum I wasn't faking being sick! I do have an infection in my central line (the cord through my chest - where I was given blood and my chemotherapy drugs). I have to be on antibiotics for a few days. But luckily, I was booked in to have my central line taken out today! After almost 9 months, I'm cord free! Soon... I'll be allowed to go swimming again! Happy days! Who are these 2 lovelies on last nights Block All stars? Autographs please. This was filmed the night of Dexter's surgery. We'd been up all day and had fallen into bed by 9pm. Neither of us were with Dexter as he was in Intensive Care. The Block Allstars was being filmed at Ronald McDonald House Randwick, as some rooms were being done up. When the smoke alarm started screeching, we threw on some more clothes and headed downstairs to wait until we were allowed to go back to bed! I'm still in Randwick Children's Hospital - but, I'm feeling much better. I'll probably be in hospital for a few days. I'm on antibiotics and might have an infection to beat. I was meant to be getting my eyes checked today, but I decided that was too boring. So I woke mum nice and early with a high temperature and I got to visit my nurses at Wollongong! They spoke to my oncologist and he decided I needed a ride in the ambulance to Sydney! It was fun! I'm ok, they think I have an infection though, so I'm having antibiotics. Mum, Dad and Charlotte are all here with me. |
