When this happens with Dexter, it can be hard to straighten his arms. They seem to get locked at the elbow. Often, it is difficult to get his fingers to straighten and his toes are usually curled up.
This tightening of the muscles is usually known as spasticity.
To experience what it might be like to walk with tightened muscles, spend an hour walking on tip toe.
On Dexter's bad 'CP nights', his muscles are very tight and this hurts him.
Dexter had a muscle release procedure and his femoral osteotomy surgery, to try to stretch his muscles and help his hips to grow in the right position.
Good luck walking on your tip toes. Let us know how you went.
