In 2019, we have a couple of things already booked in.
On February 17th, we are joining the Scarborough Hotel Bridge2Bridge Challenge. You can opt to walk all or any leg of this challenge. We're taking the three kids, so we opted for the final leg of the challenge. We'll be at Warrawong Harvey Norman at 3pm today. We will walk about five kilometres. Dexter will be in his wheelchair and the girls will be on scooters. Dexter's swimming teacher had planned to walk all day, but he has injured his leg. His daughter is walking the complete course and started early this morning. We'll meet her and Ron at 3pm for the final leg.
The money raised from the Scarborough Hotel Bridge2Bridge Challenge goes to KidzWish. Dexter loves his wheelchair basketball afternoons, which are supported by KidzWish. He has received support for equipment and receives therapy from KidzWish. At the end of the year, a massive concert is put on for children who are disadvantaged, sick or who have disabilities. Dexter has been invited each year and he and his sisters love it. Lenice was invited to speak about Dexter and their life at the KidzWish fundrasing ball.
This is a great organisation. You can learn more on their website.
Last year, Dexter also shaved his hair, but he hasn't decided whether he wants to shave his hair again this year. (He wants to grow his hair. He wants long hair!)
If you would like to support us and the World's Greatest Shave, you can donate here.
Dexter's very first hair cut was a bald shave. He was undergoing chemotherapy treatments and with his cerebral palsy, he couldn't brush the falling chunks of hair from his face.
This year will be The Music Makers' 10th annual concert! You can expect big things! Melissa (the Music Makers director) has always loved and supported Dexter since the first time they met. She believes in him and makes everything possible; she always finds a way.
The concert will be the 10th Creative Performance Evening Fundraising Concert. It will be held at City Diggers Wollongong on Friday 17 May 2019.
Every performer has a disability. Every performer rehearses the choreography each week. The costumes are stunning, the music is fun and the dancing warms your heart. The performers are amazing. We have watched some of the performers grow up over the last six or seven years and we are so proud of them and what the Music Makers program has helped them achieve.
Dexter loves dancing on stage with these guys!
Tickets are $25 or $15 for children under 12.
You can buy your tickets online to ensure you don’t miss out on this fun night. https://musicmakers2019.eventbrite.com.au/
The Music Makers are associated with The Disability Trust and all money raised goes back to helping people with disabilities.

Thanks for helping us give back.
