It's the day to get yourself to McDonalds and buy a Big Mac. For every Big Mac sold, McDonalds will donate $2 to the Ronald McDonald Houses. You can make donations or buy some helping hands.
Before I was born, Mum support McHappy Day.... because, you just never know.
And then, I got cancer and staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Randwick was just something Mum and Dad did. One of them would sleep in the chair beside my bed and the other would sleep at Ronny Macs. It was always so good, knowing they didn't have to worry about parking or driving to and from the hospital.
My major surgeries have all taken place at Randwick, so the Randwick Ronald McDonald House was our home during those times, too.
It was so good that they could walk to the House, have something to eat, shower and come back to me, feeling fresher.
Now, we will always support McHappy Day, becaause we know how important it is, to be able to stay in a Ronald McDonald House.
Mum, Dad and my sisters have spent more time sleeping in the Randwick Ronald McDonald House than I have. Mostly, I was in a hospital bed.
But, sometimes, I was able to sleep there, too! I like their big beds!
You could buy something from a Ronald McDonald House Wish List.
We're sharing the Randwick one, in Sydney, because that's always been my Ronny Macs Home.
You could buy a packet of toilet rolls, some tissues or cleaning products. You could buy a doona or a pillow. You could buy some food, for the pantry. You could buy stamps or gift vouchers.
Or, you could donate some money. (tax deductible!)
