rising temperatures for a couple of days,
but Mum and Dad decided to bring me
to the hospital this afternoon.
I don't really get colds and sniffles...
I've never really had a runny nose.
When I was teething, no one even knew.
One day, I just had teeth.
(I was going through chemotherapy treatments
at the time, so I guess we had bigger things on our minds.)
When I get sick, I tend to get very sick.
So, we're back in the hospital.
I'm back with my nurse friends.
I hope I won't be here too long.
I'm not on the ward, yet.
They're not sure what's wrong, yet.
It took 7 attempts to get my cannula in.
Now, they'll start me on antibiotics.
It's been five months since I was last sick!
This photo breaks my heart. xx C
UPDATE:
Dexter is settled now and should be on the ward soon.
Thanks so much for your showering of love & support.
On the ward... in a bed.
Making Mum hold me as I try to sleep.
Updates in the morning.
MONDAY MORNING UPDATE:
Dexter had an 'ok' night, but didn't get much sleep.
He is still breathing fast and has lots of coughing.
His temperature seems to have settled.
We're guessing it will be another night for sure,
but won't know until the doctors come around.
He discovered it was fun to hit his cannula board
on the leg casts, because it makes a fun noise! Still cheeky!
And, the afternoon/night nurses all knew him!
They all commented on how big he has gotten
and that he is now a little boy and not a baby.
That was so sweet - they really do care.
And, Julie... if you're reading this,
hopefully we'll see you this afternoon!
