They handed me over to Sir Guy's crew.
I would be cut open in surgery.
They were told I would be gone for 3-4 hours.
At the 5 hour mark, Mum burst into tears.
After 5 and a half hours, the surgeon, Sir Guy (not really a Sir but we call him that!) came out to Mum and Dad and said everything had gone well.
I was missing half my liver
and the tumour that had been causing me to be so sick.
Thanks Dad, for holding me when they put the gas on me.
That red scar across my stomach.... sometimes, in the right light, you can't even see that scar! Thanks, Sir Guy! The 'cancer cords' (central line cords) have been gone since February. My hair has grown back - and been shaved and cut again!
And, I've even put on a little weight.
