Since I've been around... my family have been getting 'rounder'!
They have all put on weight.
Maybe that has something to do with the 'comfort eating' they have been doing, when they think about my challenges.
Maybe it has something to do with them being exhausted and not wanting to do more exercise. (Though, Mum goes to the gym to maintain her strength and fitness, so she can carry and lift me.)
But, they got bigger...
So, this year... It's the year of getting healthy.
The first 2016 community fundraiser we are going to support is the Mother's Day Classic. It's a Fun Run, held on Mother's Day, with money raised going to breast cancer research.
And, there's a Fun Walk, too! (My family isn't so great at running!)
We're all doing it... Mum, Dad, me and the Noisy Sisters.
You can join us, or sponsor us.
My cancer was in my liver, but we believe that all cancers should be researched. Cancer is nasty. We'd love to see a world where cancer was beaten, forever. We know that life after cancer can be tricky, too. So, we are happy to support a fun run that supports cancer research and research to help survivors.
We'll be participating in the Wollongong event.
There's a two and a five kilometre walk, as well as a five kilometre run.
We'll be doing the five kilometre walk.
It's on Sunday the 10th of May.
It'll be an early start, but its sure to be a fun day.
This will be one of our two community fundraisers for 2016. We would love you to support us, if you can. Money donated is tax deductible and the money will be used in researching how to better improve the life of people post treatment.
The Mother's Day Classic walk or run for breast cancer research was established in 1998. It has grown from a 'walk in the park' into a major national community event. In 2015, 105 events were held across every state and territory in Australia.
$3.1 million was raised, taking the total donated to breast cancer research to $27.4 million.
Visit the Mothers Day Classic website for more information.
This project looks to improve our knowledge of breast cancer survivorship so that we can better address the needs of breast cancer patients.
There will be four studies into the long side effects and chronic health issues of breast cancer patients. The projects have a particular focus on cognitive function, fatigue, physical activity and weight management.

Thank you!
Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
We'd love it if you could help us spread the word.
