So, today... WIN News reporters came to the house.
So did some of our Tradie Mates.
It was very exciting!

It was very exciting!
It started to sprinkle, so we brought everyone inside.
Our Tradie Mates were very brave, and spoke to the camera!

We had Matt from Ward and Dunn Glass, Anthony from A Portelli Bathroom Renovations, John Smalley at Jankovic Bricklaying,
Katie and Melissa were there and so was Daniel, from Dovern Bricklaying.
We had apologies from Matt at Illawarra Roofing Solutions, Gary Vian
and the guys from Coastal Stairs Oak Flats
and the crew from PlastaMasta South Coast.
And, Narelle was hiding in the background!
It was so lovely meeting everyone! (I hope I didn't miss anyone!)

Katie and Dexter got to know each other, and Lenice was filmed,
thanking our beautiful community.

We really appreciate our Tradie Mates, and expect we are about to make some strong friendships. It was nice that they were able to meet Dexter, too.
Thank you so much, WIN News, for supporting us, and providing us
with this opportunity to share our story, and thank our tradies.

Katie has drawn up some excellent plans, and we were excited to see them!
They were a little different to Dexter's crazy plans,
and we were very happy with Katie's ideas.

And, how amazing is Melissa! Check out her shirt!
What an amazing day! We were a little nervous, and very excited.
Our idea is developing, and we are making progress!

A few people are asking what else do we need.. and how can they help?
We have put together a quick list of things we think we need:
Windows, Doors, Cabinet Maker, Kitchen, Landscaper, Fencing,
Security/Alarm System, Blinds, Insulation, Cladding, Decking,
Laundry, Roller doors, a Security Gate, Furniture, Carpentry work and labour.
We are doing a full renovation of Dexter's house to make it disability friendly,
so he can access all areas of his home...
We would love to put a heated lap pool in their backyard to be used for Dexter's therapy - but understand that could be a big dream.
We are also looking for a holiday home, or some form of residence for Dexter and his family to stay, in for a couple of months (we predict) whilst renovations occur, some place locally as Dexter has therapy and physio appointments he needs daily.
If you can help, know somebody who can help with some or one of the above things or even something we have not listed but you think we might need to complete this house renovation, please contact us through Facebook, via email [email protected]
or call Melissa 0409 976 987...
Thank you everyone for your amazing support.
Please keep sharing the posts about #DoingitforDexter.
As a tradie said to Dexter today, 'Lets give you a dream home to live in little buddy'... #doingitfordexter #communityspirt #doingittogether #tradies
