I love having Nanoo and Pokky visit, they spoil me! I'm practicing my chewing and eating a wafer biscuit - its yummy! I'm always rolling and kicking, now. I even giggled yesterday!
I like hanging with Charlotte now! I've been very busy lately - practising sitting, standing, crawling and walking - but I still hate sleeping! I've had fun with aunty Carol, but she is back at school now. I got a surprise when Nanoo and Pokky got here. I was supposed to be sleeping, but when Pokky heard me, he yelled out and wanted me to play! I was so happy.... but, Mum said I had to go back to sleep. Nevermind, I was allowed to sleep in Nanoo and Pokky's room this morning. Charlotte has loved being spoiled, too! She has loved sleeping on Pokky's belly.
Mum and Dad put me to bed, thinking I will go to sleep! I don't think I should go to sleep when they put me into my bed! Now that I can roll over, I roll and turn and twist and play - for a long time! Sometimes, I get my head stuck under the music box (you can see it on the side of the bed). When I get stuck, I yell out until someone comes to help me.... then I smile and try to make them play with me! Mum and Dad have been very busy. We have moved to a new house. They still have to move the last few things, but our house is pretty much set up now. We will have a lot more room to play!
I had visits from my therapists today, but I was very sleepy and fell asleep. Mum wants me to show them how clever I have become! I did show them how easy it is for me to roll over. I love being on my belly now! Mum and Aunty Carol keep trying to make me say "Mum" and "Dad", but I don't really want to. I do think about it - and I know what the words mean... I just won't say them, yet. I can be stubborn, sometimes! I did get to eat some more cheese and bacon balls today. Mum held one up to my nose, so I could smell it and know what I was about to eat. I smiled and opened my mouth up, really wide! I'm liking playing in the bath now. Aunty Carol is teaching me to slide up and down and I love that! The water washes all over my head when I bump into the end of the bath tub. Oh, and Charlotte is good. She got lots of cuddles today, so when I woke up this afternoon, I stole lots of cuddles, too! My speech therapist had a great idea! She thought I might like to eat cheese and bacon balls. She thought the crunchy sound would help me learn to really chew my food. She was right! I love cheese and bacon balls! Mum let me have some today. They did make a big crunchy noise and I smiled... then they went mushy and I could eat them easily. I hope I get some more tomorrow. Charlotte is awake a lot more now. She's really loud when she cries for more milk! I've been pretty busy lately.
I'm feeling much better and I'm getting stronger and stronger. My sister is pretty noisy! She cries a lot. She is always hungry, so I have to be a bit more patient. I have a lot of teeth and I am getting my back teeth now. I was never allowed to have baby panadol for my other teeth... while I was having my chemotherapy, I was not allowed to have panadol. I just shove my fingers in my mouth and push on my new teeth instead. I like to pretend to be a pirate and love saying "Arrrrr!". Since I have my energy back, and I am not having any more chemotherapy, I have been trying to do so many things! I am pushing myself and I am so determined. It's a huge effort for me to learn things, but I am working so well! I can almost roll over and I hold my head up so high, now! I am getting very good at my sitting, too! It makes me very tired, though! Today, I fell asleep in the middle of the afternoon! I get a bit annoyed with myself when I fall asleep! These are some of the first photos of Charlotte.
She wanted to be just like me! She had to go to the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU), too. We were very scared when the doctors and nurses told us she had to go there! (I was in the NICU for 4 months.) Charlotte was in there for less than a day. The great nurses in the NICU taught her to drink. When I went to Sydney to have my CT scans, Charlotte came with me. We stayed in the Ronald McDonald house together. She loves my kisses! |
