Imagine you need to fill the car with petrol, mail three letters and grab a bottle of milk. You have to lift a pram/wheelchair out of the car. You need to lift a person out of the car and strap them in to their wheelchair. You probably have at least one other child, possibly more.
Fill your car with petrol. Get all of the kids in to the prams/wheelchair, pay and then, get everyone back in to the car and the wheelchair packed away. It will take a little while.
Notice the look on the driver of the car behind you.
Repeat all of this at the post office and at the local shops.
For an even more adventurous trip, do it while the children are all asleep.
For adults with cerebral palsy, it might take a long time to walk around fill their car and pay. Getting in and out of wheelchairs would also be time-consuming.
