I've been busy at preschool and playgroup and I've been working hard with my physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy appointments.
And, we've had all the stuff going on with the house renovation!
But Mum and Dad have had other stuff on too.
Imagine... for once it's not me causing trouble!
She had a hearing test.
And, she got some bad news.
They said my littlest sister has extreme hearing loss in one ear and some hearing loss in her other ear.
Last week, she did the same test, with different people... and, they said she was fine. They said her hearing was fine.
Now, we're really confused.
We have to get more tests, so we can work out which of the tests got the correct result. If my littlest sister has a hearing loss, we want to know as early as we can. We know how important early intervention is.
If she does have a hearing loss, we know we will adjust, and we will do everything we can, to make sure she hears as best as possible.
But, for now, we are feeling sad and confused.
We're scared that, with my vision impairment, I might not be able to really see my sister. And, if she has a hearing loss, she might not be able to really hear me.
That doesn't seem fair.
Mum and Dad have been watching my littlest sister for a while, now. They thought a hearing loss diagnosis was coming, which is why they took her for her hearing test.
My littlest sister has starting saying some sounds. She says Dad and bub and no. She makes some other noises. We have to encourage that, and help her learn more sounds. We might both need speech therapy! That makes Mum sad.
Knowing she might have a hearing loss makes sense of a few things. My littlest sister loves seeing our faces. When she sees us, she bursts in to a huge, happy smile. She doesn't like it when we leave the room... probably because she can't see or hear us, and thinks she is alone. She doesn't turn to us, when we talk to her.
She watched the television when the sound is off, instead of following the noise of our other sister's laughter in the other room.
Sometimes, she does show that she hears. It's lucky, really, that my house is so noisy! Mum is a bit scared that she has to encourage my Aunty Carol to be even noisier! And, it's lucky that my other sister is always so noisy!
We've started making sure we make lots of sounds, and we talk in to my sister's ears. We touch her, when she is facing away from us. We let her play with my vision toys - flashing lights and lots of colours.
We've started to adapt, just in case the first diagnosis is the correct one.
For now, we need a little bit of time.
Just like me, we know the possibility of a hearing loss diagnosis does not change anything, but is now something we can work with. My sister is still the same beautiful, cheeky little girl... she just might have a hearing impairment.
People have always said this sister is a lot like me. I'm just glad Mum and Dad have someone else to worry about, for a change! But I love her, no matter what!
