Today is a day that I wish didn't have to exist.
No babies should be born too early.
But, awareness and research have come such a long way and it's a good time to have a premmie baby. I can't imagine what the outcome would have been if Dexter was born 30+ years ago.
Dexter was born at 31+1 weeks and he weighed 1.59kg.
He spent 17 weeks in 3 different hospitals and we came close (closer than anyone realizes) to losing him a few times in those 4 months.
Today is a day to be aware... Not all baby's journeys into the world are the same. But, despite all our challenges, we are really lucky - we got to bring him home.
Go hug your kids.
