I've had a bad cough and so noone got much sleep last night,
but I'm still at home!
I really love my standing frame, it means I can stand up to watch sesame street! I've had a bad cough and so noone got much sleep last night, but I'm still at home! I've had a good couple of days, no more big vomits for now! I liked getting lots of attention from aunty Terese this morning while mum waited and waited for the doctor! I'm an honorary member of Brisbane South Little Kickers! (Mum wouldn't let me put my shirt on properly though, because I've been throwing up again all day...) I love it, thank you Mary! I've been a chucky boy today, big yucky chemo ones. But otherwise I feel ok, I'm just very tired. It's worse for Mum and Dad! They have to change the sheets and clean up after my chucks... but, I have to get the chemo out somehow! Rice bubbles for breakfast are SO much better than weetbix! I have been good all day and, I had music therapy again - I love it! There are less then 24 hours of this chemotherapy round to go now! Check out my drool!! Round 3 is just about to start, we have been here since 11.30 waiting! This one should only be 48 hours though because they are using different chemo drugs. I had music therapy and loved it! I'm too spotty for a nice photo today! I got my heart checked before chemo starts tomorrow, lucky they said it was ok! The fundraiser made it into the Kiama Independent and I found a photo of mum, aunts Carol and Terese and even Nanoo! Although my cerebral palsy means that I have trouble teaching my muscles what they should be doing,
I love standing. I love taking steps - while someone holds on to me. I love being a little boy - and being up and about. Now, I have a new frame! It will help me learn to stand up. It will help me strengthen my muscles. I only got it today, but I think I will love it! Thank you, CP Alliance! Kiama opens its heart for little Dexter CONGRATULATIONS to everyone involved with the successful Dollars 4 Dexter fund-raiser for little Dexter Heffernan and his parents Andrew and Lenice. Kiama folk opened their hearts, and wallets accordingly, to help the Heffernans have some time off work while young Dexter has treatment for cancer. Organiser Michelle Scotford was overwhelmed with how the event went. When she first started planning the fund-raiser Michelle was hoping to raise in the vicinity of $10,000 to $15,000. With final numbers still to be tallied, she said it looked like they would have more than $40,000, something she said she could never have foreseen. http://www.kiamaindependent.com.au/story/234318/kiama-opens-its-heart-for-little-dexter/ |
