Tomorrow, the month is over.
Dexter will still have cerebral palsy.
He will never grow out of it. It will never go away. We won't be posting challenges, anymore, but we will still be facing daily battles of our own.
Last year, we challenged ourselves to believe we were strong enough to help Dexter as much as we could, with his cerebral palsy.
We challenged ourselves to believe we were mentally and physically strong enough, to support him.
We challenged ourselves to move away from the people who were negative and who stopped us from feeling strong. We decided to stop listening to the gossip or rumours we heard about our family.
We challenged ourselves to believe in ourselves.
This year, we are believing in ourselves.
We are putting ourselves first.
We are strong.
We have to be.
We have always chased silver linings, when it comes to Dexter. We need to stay hopeful and optimistic, despite how hard Dexter's life is.
We have always chased adventures. Dexter loves them and he deserves them.
He shouldn't be made to sit on the side-lines and miss out, just because he suffered from a lack of oxygen to his brain and now lives with cerebral palsy.
Dexter has done some amazing things!
We want this to continue!
We will find a way! We have promised Dexter this.
And, the smiles and the excitement he shows, makes it all worthwhile.
Dexter has been on a flying fox, in dodgem cars, in an old Cadillac, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, wake boarding, horse riding, down slides, in a helicopter, on trampolines, in colour runs, in a police Audi, dancing on stage and presenting at university.
He's met a dolphin and held snakes, echidnas and lizards.
He's raised a lot of money for charity and teaches us to be better people.
Dexter's life with cerebral palsy is harder than we can ever explain.
Our life with Dexter is often heartbreaking, but he brings us more love than we could ever have imagined.
We've met some really beautiful people, because of Dexter.
We are so lucky to call him ours.
