I have some bone protruding out now and it hurts to walk or stand for too long.
It even hurts to wear my special AFOs (my shoes to hold my feet in the right position).
My surgery that was meant to be mid next year has been brought forward.
We were given two dates.
After lots of thought and discussion, it’s been decided I will have the surgery on my foot on 10 December.
It’s the same date as my hip surgery last year.
I’ll miss the same lead up to Christmas - the class parties, the carols in the green, the last day of school.
But, it means I won’t miss the start of year 3 and Mum and Dad won’t have to miss my baby sister’s first week of school.
I’ll be in a cast and a brace.
It’ll be another 6 weeks of no swimming or getting wet.
It will be hot and itchy and I’ll loose muscle tone and strength, again.
The choice wasn’t easy.
Our house has been a little sad again the last couple of weeks - we got confirmation of the date Friday.
The surgery will help me, but some days... cerebral palsy sucks.
