A huge fan.
And guess what...
The Sea Eagles are ambassadors for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
I've got cerebral palsy!
The Manly Sea Eagles also support Layne Beachley's 'Aim for the Stars' foundation, Bear Cottage, the Northern Beaches Lifeline, Royal Far West (supporting country kids) and Stewart House.
And recently, they wore blue for autism awareness.
We think that makes them pretty awesome.
One of the Manly Sea Eagles players is involved with something pretty special.
David "The Wolfman" Williams hosts children with special needs or illnesses at each of the Manly Sea Eagles' home games. These kids are known as "Wolfies Howlers" and they sit in the front row of the dugout, right next to the players' enclosure! And, there's an opportunity for them to have a photo with David "The Wolfman" Williams on the field, after the game!
Life with me and my cerebral palsy is really hard.
I'm a patient, cheeky, happy kid... but it's hard on Mum and Dad.
We sent an email, asking whether we could be Wolfies Howlers for a day.
We didn't think we would hear back...
But, guess what! The next day, we got a lovely email.... they said yes!
The next time the Manly Sea Eagles play a football game, we'll be there, watching them. I'm going to be a "Wolfies Howler"!
I don't have my words yet, so I might not howl, but I will love the energy and excitement of the game.
We can't wait!
We'll post photos, for sure!
We want to give a shout out to Clint Bowen, too. He is the man who founded and funds Wolfie's Howlers. He is the leading Manly 16ft Skiff Club skipper Clint Bowen. David "The Wolfman" Williams said this about Clint: "Not enough can be said about that bloke. He doesn't do it for the accolades or marketing perspective. They're a rare kind of breed." We're very excited about Sunday. | Thank you, Clint! |
