This is a fun one... but, also a sad one.
Everywhere we go, every time we go somewhere, Dexter gets stared at.
Sometimes, it's kids.
Sometimes, it's adults.
Sometimes, it's so many people we lose track.
Some days, we don't really notice and we don't really mind.
Some days, it breaks our hearts and we are sad and angry and frustrated and furious.
Some days, we want to scream and shout and yell and cry.
Some days, we tell people not to stare and some days, we stare back.
But mostly, we touch Dexter, tell him we love him and we are proud of him and we keep going.
Being stared at, all the time, is hard. We are getting better at it, but we still have our bad days. Dexter's sisters don't seem to notice the stares, yet... But, they will. We are trying to give them the confidence to believe in themselves and to know they are great people. We are getting them ready for when they realise they are being looked at, because they are with Dexter.
So, today's challenge is not for the shy, quiet people (which is who we were!).
Dress in your strangest clothes. Wear the funniest wig you can find. Wear odd shoes. Wear a funny tie and some weird sunnies. Wear a clown hat.
And then, go shopping. Walk down the main street. Have a coffee. Surround yourself with people.
Notice the stares. (If you have a friend, have them walk behind you, where they can watch the people who stop and stare after you have past by!)
Sadly, being stared at has become a real, issue for us. We are learning to be strong, but some days are harder than others.
We'd love to see a photo of you, if you do this challenge!
