I have cerebral palsy, or CP. Mine is level 4-5 quadriplegic cerebral palsy, with dystonia and spasticity. Level 5 is the worst.
Last year, we shared a challenge each day in March. We're going to share the challenges again, this year. At first, we didn't want to just repeat ourselves, but... every day with cerebral palsy is a battle and most days are just like the other days. While I am getting stronger and gaining more skills, I am still developing my muscles and working on the same physical goals.
Today's post is a little late, but the challenge is an easy one.
It's the FLIES Challenge - have someone brush something against your face until it annoys you.... But, you can't brush it away with your fingers or your hand.
My cerebral palsy makes it tricky for my brain to send messages to the muscles in my hand, so I still can't brush flies away from my face.
**If you are new to these challenges, join in. They are hopefully a way for us to give an insight into our daily life. Hopefully, they will help you understand the daily struggles people with cerebral palsy face. And, hopefully, some of them might make you giggle.
If you've done them before, why not have another go?
Life with cerebral palsy is difficult.
But, life with Dexter is also full of love and hope.
