Many people with cerebral palsy need to have occupational therapy.
They need help to do the things other people take for granted.
Dexter needs support with holding objects, and knowing when to let them go.
He needs support to hold spoons and put food in his mouth.
Dexter (and many other people with cerebral palsy) needs support to learn to grip pencils, write, use a spoon, use scissors, brush his teeth and put toothpaste on a toothbrush... Some of things will be very difficult for him. Some things may be too difficult for him, but, with enough Occupational Therapy, he will develop greater strength and control of his hands.
To have a better understanding of how it might feel to have less coordination, spend a day using your non-dominant hand.
