I was a vomiting boy this morning. When the vomit colour got a bit strange, Mum ended up talking me to Wollongong hospital. We got to the hospital pretty quickly and they could tell I was sick again. I went to the kids' ward first, so I could see my nurse friends.
Next, I was transferred to the emergency department. I had an ultrasound and an xray and blood tests and morphine for pain. They jabbed me with needles again and stuck things to me.
They suspect I have intussception - apparently a common childhood condition - requiring an air enema.
They needed to transfer me to Sydney and they took me in the helicopter! I wore ear plugs. Dad came too. They took me to Randwick, my cancer treatment hospital. They know me there.
We didn't know I was this sick, so we didn't bring Hamish to the hospital. Mum felt sad that I would be sleeping in the hospital overnight, without Hamish, so Charlotte let me have her giraffe friend instead. Thanks, Charlotte! x (Charlotte got looked after by my nurse friends while Mum was busy with me. That was very nice!)
Hopefully, I will respond well to the simple treatment... If not, I will need more surgery. I already have a big scar across my belly - now I might end up with a cross! If I need surgery, Guy Henry wants to do it for me. He's the surgeon who's cut me open twice already. He wasn't even on call, but when he heard about me - he said he'd help. If I need surgery, I hope Guy does it, too. He's great!
Good news! Dad just sent a message to say I am responding well to treatment and I might not need more surgery!
More tomorrow.
