The person she is now is so different to the person she was.
There are some things that are still the same, but most things have changed.
My birth changed everything. She's stronger, now... but it's still hard.
She's still heartbroken and lonely.
She's often sad and frustrated.
But, she chooses happiness.
She chooses to wake up each morning and keep fighting.
She chooses to find the silver linings and she chooses to make the most of things.
Mum is incredibly strong; in mind and body.
She has to be.
Mum can't work, even though she has a two degrees and plenty of experience.
She can't work, because of me...
Because I sometimes need her and, when I do, I need her instantly.
She can't work, because she needs to drop me off at school, in the morning, and pick me up in the afternoon. I can't catch the bus home. I have to be lifted and carried, and there are very few people who can do that, now.
So, she can't work, even tough she really wants to.
She worries about me.
She gets scared for the future and cries more tears than anyone will ever know.
And yet, through everything, she chooses love.
She makes sure that our home is always filled with love.
We all believe in ourselves.
We know we are clever.
We know we are strong.
We know we are loved.
And that is everything.
We are so lucky, that we get to call her our Mum.
This one is for her.
