I want to play... but my muscles don't always listen to me.
Technology sometimes helps me play.
I played a game, during the holidays.
It was fun.
I had to work really hard and I had to concentrate, but it was very cool.
I played a pirate popping game.
I had to choose colours... The colours were on the swords.
When I picked the sword colour, my sister put the sword in the barrel.
We put lots of swords in the barrel.
We were waiting, because... when there were enough swords, the pirate would pop out of the barrel!
And, the coolest part... I picked the colours with my eyegaze!
I had to choose the colours on the computer screen.
How cool is technology!?
And, this was the first time I really played one of these games and the first time I really was in charge of making the decisions.
Mum pulled some pretty funny faces, but I love that she is so patient and waits while I work at making my eyes look at the right places on the screen.
She never thought that she would be the mum of a boy with lots of disabilities, but I am so lucky she is my Mum. She makes sure I feel important and loved.
And, the Noisy Sister.. she was awesome. She waited patiently, too, even when I am sure she was busting to put the swords into the barrel! She waited and watched the screen. She held the swords up to my face, so I could see them better and would know which colours to choose from. When I picked a colour, she put the sword into the barrel. She asked me the right questions and she was so proud of me.
I played this game with my speech therapist from KidzWish.
It's tricky, learning to use the eyegaze. It takes a lot of energy and I have to try really hard, but this was a fun game to play!

It's tiring work!
Mum helped me hold my hed in place, so my eyes could look at the screen. Sometimes, my neck muscles are too weak to keep my head up high (especially while I am concentrating on other things!)
We were waiting for the popping pirate!
