This one has the PODD communication book on it.
This means, that when I look at the different pictures, the computer reads it out to me. I have this eyegaze system for two weeks.
If I can show that I can use it, we can apply for some funding and might be able to get me one to use all the time. This would be such a good way for me to start 'talking' to my friends at school.
For mum to teach me, she had to practice too. Her sentence is on the video. It' not easy, but I want to show people that I am clever and I can use it.
It does get a little frustrating for me, at the moment.
I like to use my voice. I know my family are proud of me, for using my words... and now, they are proud of me for using my eyes to make words.
I'm still not sure of where all the pictures are, but I know that if I keep trying, I will get better.
This morning, I told Mum to "pack up and do something else!" I told her three times! After the third time, she let me use the eyegaze to play games.
I'm pretty good at playing games with my eyes!
**Dexter has always used the PODD to tell people to pack up and go home, right since he first used it when he was a few years old.
We can't wait to hear him talk in sentences.
