It was the Lead Truck bidding day for the i98FM Camp Quality convoy.
We were lucky, because Nicole and Derek, from McMahon's Transport and the People's Truck invited us all to their office for the bidding.
It is such an amaing this to be a part of.
Money comes pouring in from everywhere, the donations keep climbing and climbing and people share their personal stories.
People cry and they cheer and they cry and they feel so proud.
This year, Derek invited Lenice to take part in the bidding.
Lenny Turner was also there.
Lenny made an incredible gesture, driving all the way from Townsville to be here for the bidding day and convoy. Today was the first day we met Lenny, but it feels as though he has been a part of our family for a long time. Lenny drove the ABC People's Truck, so it will be in the convoy. My name is on Lenny's People's Truck and his name and his girls' names were the first names we got as Dexter's Mates.
Nanoo and Pokky are here for convoy, and they came to the bidding, too.
What an emotional time.
We want to offer a huge congratulations to Rob, from Coastal Windows and all his supporting contributors, for winning the lead truck position. They donated an impressive $114,000!
And, guess what!
The People's Truck raised enough money to be the second lead truck in the convoy!
The People's Truck's final bid was an amazing $ 102,640.80!
Fantastic effort from Nicole and Derek. If you're name/business is on the Truck this year, feel proud.
And, the grand total earned in the Truck Bidding today is $758,620.80!
Here are some photos from this morning:
Three Lennys! Lenice, Lenny and Len. Look closely. You'll see my name on Lenny's truck. Can you find anyone else's name? Man! She got dirty! Gotta have a Family Selfie! I felt pretty special, getting cuddles from everyone, especially Nicole, Derek and Lenny. Thanks for a great day. No photos of the People's Truck, yet. It's a big surprise, best kept until convoy day. See you there, if you can make it. | Mum made the two bids. Lenny made two bids and Derek made the final bid. Nanoo, Pokky and my sister. Oh no, Dad! Charlotte has boyfriends! My Nanoo and Pokky, Mum, Charlotte and Lenny standing in front if his truck. |
And, Mack the Truck came for a visit, which was a great surprise!
